On 16 May 2024, participants in the MENAWET project took part in a field exchange visit to Ifrane National Park, where they discovered the diversity of its landscapes and ecosystems.

The visit began at the Maison de la Cédraie, where participants learned about the park’s distinctive ecological features, its natural wealth and the main threats affecting its wetlands.

The group then travelled to Dayet Aoua, a Ramsar-designated wetland within the Imouzzar Kandar complex. The Living Planet Morocco team presented the evolution of the site’s ecological condition and explained the progress of the ecological restoration project led by LPM in partnership with public institutions, other institutional stakeholders and representatives of local land users.

The field visit provided a practical opportunity to exchange experience and better understand how cooperation between institutions, civil society and local communities can support wetland restoration.
